Canada is competing this week in the World Cricket League Division 3 tournament in Uganda, aiming for a top two finish, promotion to Division 2, and a chance to qualify for the World Cup.

Rizwan Cheema was named man of the match.

After the win, Ranjit Saini – President Cricket Canada states ‘We are buoyed after the win against two strong teams Uganda & Oman and confident that this performance on the field will see us winning the WCL Div 3 and see us back in Div 2, from where we will put in our hardest effort to get back to the Intercontinental Cup. The players have worked very hard and realize that the solution to their challenge lies within them and I hope winning ways continue to flourish us further. While getting ahead is never an easy task but we are certainly favoured to do so and have set ourselves up to meet the challenge.

Canada have a rest day and will play Malaysia in Entebbe on May 26, with the match scheduled to start at 3 am. Malaysia have lost both of their matches in the tournament.
