Match played at North Country (Ireland)

Nitish Kumar announced his intentions in the best of ways as the stylish batsmen scored an unbeaten century to lead Canada to a massive total of 212 from 35 overs.

Kumar (100) and Akash Shah (11) shared an opening stand of 50 runs as Canada looked to set a solid target in the rain reduced match. Two quick wickets pegged Canada back to 62-2 before Kumar and Kyle Edgehill (36) shared a 78 run 3rd wicket stand to stabalize the batting before Rayyan Pathan (42* in 24 balls) battered the Scotland bowling to carry Canada over the 200 mark.

Kumar reached his century with 3 balls to go as Pathan's onslaught carried Canada to 212.

Despite the massive total, Scotland were not intimidated and set about the chase positively. Jobanjot Sidhu (4-39) was the pick of Canada's bowlers but Scotland's batsmen continued to score quickly, passing 100 in 15 overs. Aman Bailwal (63) led the late overs charge but fell in the 34th over as the last 4 wickets tumbled for 23 runs in 4 overs. Scotland moved to 206 before Peter Legget holed out to Aklas Umar to end the game.

Canada moves to 1-0 and looks to go 2-0 tomorrow against Kenya.
